in General Linguistics
for linguists and all those who like Linguistics
This list is a part of Russian network “Social Sciences and Humanities” established and technically and financially supported by some Russian and American institutions. Indispensable is a grant support of the project by the program IATP of the organisation “Project Harmony”, Miami University (Oxford, Ohio), personal fund of Professor V. Hevigshurst (Miami University) and Faculty of Philology of Moscow State University.
The purpose of the editor of the list is to create a kind of electronic bulletin for discussing and mutual informing of actual theoretical questions of the Human Language nature, its correspondences with other natural languages (languages of animals), specific features of its typological, stylistic and national variants, mechanisms of its evolution, etc.

The specific feature of this list is that it is the first Russian linguistic forum established for the possibly widest auditorium. We’ll do our best to widen the flow of information about the state of the art in Russian linguistics, to inform subscribers and all those who simply is interested in our HumLang List on new linguistic (and related) works, conferences, updated bibliographies, sites, resources. Besides, subscribers will be able to take part in exchange of reviews, evaluations, suggestions within the discussion club “Unresolved Problems in Studies of Nature and Evolution of Human Language”.

After that you will be informed that you have been included in the list of HUMLANG subscribers. Also you will be provided with an address for sending messages to the HUMLANG List.
All the materials (letters, resources, links, etc.) sent for the List will be looked through and approved by the editor for distributing among all subscribers of the list.
Part of the common interest information in General Linguistics will be accumulated and accessible on Web-pages at titles Announcements and Our publications.
